The consistent Kinloch has been nominated by Cambridge conditioner Stephen Marsh as his best chance of success on the synthetic track at Riccarton on Friday.
The Sweynesse four-year-old has been racing well since joining the southern arm of Marsh’s training operation and will chase a breakthrough victory in the Speight’s Summit Ultra On Tap Maiden (1400m).
Kinloch has placed in three of his last four starts, including a most recent runner-up finish on the track over 1600m, and from barrier one his fortunes will be guided by experienced rider Terry Moseley.
“He gets a nice draw and it looks a lovely race for him, it’s very much made to measure and he’ll be a strong chance,” Marsh said.
