Wanganui trainer JJ Rayner will head to Woodville on Friday where she will kick off the campaigns of two of her stable stars, with the pair having ambitions of heading to Riccarton’s Grand National Festival of Racing in August.
Wanganui hurdler Lord Spencer was rewarded for his consistency at Riccarton on Saturday when breaking through for his maiden hurdle victory in the Speight’s Summit Ultra On Tap 0-1 Win Hurdles (3100m).
JJ Rayner has often been the bridesmaid on her ventures to Riccarton Park for National week and hopes consistent jumper Lord Spencer can break her runner-up streak this Saturday.
JJ Rayner will head to Trentham with two strong chances and events on Saturday will determine whether she ventures further afield with the pair next month.
