Fresh from landing a five-win bag at his local meeting on Easter weekend, Riverton trainer Kelvin Tyler is looking north again with Freddie Time set to line up in Saturday’s Listed Hawke’s Bay Cup (2200m) at Ōtaki.

A thrilling finish to the rescheduled Listed Liquorland Gore Guineas (1200m) went in favour of local Riverton filly Better Shared who added some valuable black type to her career record at just her fifth start.

Riverton’s dual Easter Weekend meeting has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years, and it has become an attractive proposition for out-of-region trainers.

You could be forgiven for thinking you were watching winter racing at Riverton on Sunday, with horses competing on a Heavy9 surface, but that played right into the hands of local wet track specialist Sight To See in the Wyndham Cup (2000m).
