Byerley Park trainer Donna Logan was pleased to step her stakes performed fillies, Parfait Dimanche and Belle Rebelle, out at the Te Awamutu trials on Tuesday, and she is hoping they can both match their black-type feats from last season this spring.

Donna Logan is hoping a return to Ruakaka this weekend can help reinvigorate her Group Three performer Yokozuna.

Wet weather is forecast ahead of racing at Tauranga on Saturday but Donna Logan is hoping the worst of it stays away.

Donna Logan will be back in the black-type frame with her young stable at Ruakaka on Saturday, presenting the promising Yokozuna in the Gr.3 Cambridge Stud Northland Breeders’ Stakes (1200m).

“That was a really nice win by Yokozuna today, I think he’s got the makings of a good horse.”

“She is a staying type of mare but we will see how she features fresh-up at a mile.”
