Andrew Forsman always intended to aim Positivity at Saturday’s Gr.3 Bart Cummings (2500m) at Flemington, but the Cambridge trainer has been caught off guard by what his rising star stayer has already achieved this spring.
Trainer Andrew Forsman had just one runner engaged at Hastings on Saturday which was all he needed to collect the major spoils in the feature flat event, the Valley D’Vine Restaurant Handicap (1400m).
“It’s probably fair to say that he’s no oil painting, but he tries very hard and that’s a big part of the battle. It’s not easy to win four races in a row."
Within the space of less than half an hour on Saturday afternoon, Andrew Forsman will be represented by key chances in Group Three races in both Australia and New Zealand.
Wessex is in good order to resume at Te Rapa on Saturday, although trainer Andrew Forsman believes the four-year-old will improve as she steps up in distance this preparation.
The Andrew Forsman-trained Leedox scored his first win in just over a year when triumphant in the 15 July ITM/GIB Northern Winter Championships (1400m) at Ruakaka on Saturday.
