Star southern filly Hello Hayley is on target to become the first horse in two decades to complete the Southern 3YO Guineas Triple Crown in the rescheduled Listed Gore Guineas (1200m) at Riverton on Saturday.

Trainer Sophie Price put aside her regular Clerk of the Course duties at Invercargill on Saturday to watch her promising three-year-old filly Hello Hayley take out the Listed ILT Ascot Park Hotel Southland Guineas (1400m) at Ascot Park on Saturday.

“She’s a typical red-head and a bit fiery so she lives up to her name, but she is a wee honey and has gotten better with age."

A trio of Southland runners will be on trial for looming Cups targets when they head to Ashburton on Thursday.

He may be a rising seven-year-old struggling with arthritis in a knee but Silent Battler is still only growing up, according to Southland trainer Sophie Price.
