Training newcomer Trent Didham has already exceeded his season’s expectations and will now hope to press on to advance the tally in the coming days.

Peter and Trent Didham have had a big rap on Shameless Star, and the three-year-old filly is starting to live up to that billing, winning her fourth race, and second in succession, at Wanganui on Saturday.

Toni Davies had a weekend to remember, with the Palmerston North apprentice jockey scoring her first treble at Otaki on Saturday, including her second stakes victory, and ended it on a winning note when taking out the last race at Hawera on Sunday.

“It’s really good to get 100 wins, we’ve only been training about four and a half years so the strike rate is important."

Awapuni filly War Princess will head up State Highway Three on Saturday to Wanganui in search of all-important black-type in the Listed HS Dyke Wanganui Guineas (1200m).

“It’s only her third run and there’s a question whether she’s seasoned enough, but she deserves a go."
