Meaningful Star shone brightly last Saturday when runner-up in the Gr.2 Tauranga Stakes (1530m) and he could now get the opportunity to defend his crown in the Gr.3 Great Northern Challenge Stakes (1600m) at Ellerslie on Saturday week.

“He went along alright and did what he had to do."

“He carried 60 kilos last time, so the weight won’t worry him."

“It was a good run first up and I felt he had improved leading into today."

“Whatever he does on Monday he is going to improve on too, as long as the track is not too bad.”

“He is just getting stronger as he gets older, and he has come back really good, I am quite happy with him.”
