Te Akau Racing continued their reign as New Zealand’s leading stable when winning their seventh consecutive National Trainers’ Premiership this season.
Te Akau’s Matamata-based trainer Sam Bergerson is happy to have four runners engaged in the last two Group One features of the season, but what doesn’t please him is a worsening weather forecast ahead of Trentham on Saturday.
Te Akau Racing have once again surpassed the 100-win mark in a season, bringing up the milestone this term when Perlino took out the Selwyn Rakaia Vets (1600m) at Riccarton Park on Saturday.
Te Akau Racing have made the TAB Karaka Millions 2YO (1200m) their own in the last few years, and they look to have another strong contender for this year's edition.
“We are lucky to have these experienced international riders coming to New Zealand and you can see just what they bring to the saddle in everything they do."
