It has been a lucrative couple of weeks for the connections of Kereti, which was capped by another big cheque at Awapuni on Thursday following his win in the $75,000 Power Farming Manawatu Polytrack Championship (1400m).
Awapuni trainer Mike Breslin finished the season on a high at his home synthetic meeting on Friday when recording a winning double, including Kereti taking out the $60,000 Power Farming Manawatu Awapuni Synthetic Final (1400m).
Mike Breslin is hoping the horse he named after one of his favourite footballers, Peter Crouch, can earn him a ticket into Australia’s most coveted race.
Awapuni stayer Crouch will bid to capture an elusive stakes victory this weekend before he readies to head across the Tasman to test his talent in Melbourne next month.
