Almost nothing has gone to plan this spring for Te Akau colts He Who Dares and Hostility, but trainers Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson are hoping for a change of fortune in the lead-up to the Gr.1 NZ Zealand 2000 Guineas (1600m).

Labour Weekend is set to play a role in shaping Te Akau Racing’s contingents for the Gr.1 Barneswood Farm New Zealand 1000 Guineas (1600m) and Gr.1 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai New Zealand 2000 Guineas (1600m) at Riccarton next month.

Te Akau Racing will hold a strong hand on Proisir Plate Day at Ellerslie on Saturday, particularly in the age group features.

Te Akau Racing are building a strong record in the Gr.3 Cockram Stakes (1200m), and they will look to continue that at Caulfield on Saturday when Damask Rose takes her place in this year’s edition.
