It’s been a testing last couple of years for champion jockey Lisa Allpress, who has been sidelined by injuries, but she made a winning return to the saddle on Saturday when partnering the Kevin Myers-trained He’s Lucid to victory at Hawera.

“He’s a big horse and what he’s done so early is quite surprising really for such a raw-boned type, he’s showing a lot of ability and when he strengthens further, he’s going to be even more impressive.”
