Consistent galloper Discretion Rules cracked his maiden victory in fine style after a string of minor placings when taking out the Listed Berkley Stud Champagne Stakes (1200m) at Riccarton. 

Te Akau Racing will be vying to score juvenile stakes titles on opposite ends of the country on Saturday.

With the curtain coming down on the racing career of Te Akau Racing’s 10-time Group One winner Imperatriz yesterday, they are now looking forward to unveiling their next future star, which could very well come at Riccarton on Saturday.

“He’s (Nucleozor) definitely up to black-type level and we’ll give him that chance in his next few starts.

“We’re really happy with him, he’s going in as best as we can have him. He’s fit, happy and healthy."
